Rooney out for 6 weeks

It was confirmed that England’s Wayne Rooney has fractured the base of the fourth metatarsal on his right foot and he will be out for six weeks. As the World Cup is also exactly six weeks away, outgoing England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has to decide whether to take the 20-year-old to Germany this summer.

While England fans anxiously wait for the news of Wayne Rooney’s injury, Rooney’s England strike partner. long-term absentee Michael Owen successfully makes a comeback in Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Birmingham. Owen came on in the 61st minute replacing Michael Chopra and he appeared sharp throughout the 29 minutes he spend on the field.
