Rooney got until Thursday to appeal

FIFA spokesperson Markus Siegler told that FIFA have given England’s Wayne Rooney until Thursday (July 6) to submit a statement over the red card he was given in his team’s World Cup quarter-final defeat by Portugal.

England fans are obviously upset by the loss to Portugal. This frustration, however, should not cloud reasonable judgement. Anyone watching on replay can clearly see Rooney stepped on the Portugese player. Either it’s pruposedly or not it’s still up to debate though. The fact is it’s only Rooney’s fault that he got the red card. Period.
