China to host World Cup 2022?

According to FIFA president Sepp Blatter, after the success of hosting the 2008 Olympic Games, China are now keen to stage the World Cup. But the earliest China could possibly host the competition is only for the 2022 edition.

Okada names 4 Euro-based quartet

Japan coach Takeshi Okada has named Shunsuke Nakamura (Celtic), Junichi Inamoto (Eintracht Frankfurt), Daisuke Matsui (St Etienne) and Makoto Hasebe (Wolfsburg) in Japan’s squad for their World Cup qualifier against Bahrain on September 6. Japan have been drawn in Group A alongside Bahrain, Australia, Qatar and Uzbekistan.
