Rooney got until Thursday to appeal

FIFA spokesperson Markus Siegler told that FIFA have given England’s Wayne Rooney until Thursday (July 6) to submit a statement over the red card he was given in his team’s World Cup quarter-final defeat by Portugal.

Czech Republic playmaker, Pavel Nedved whose team face Italy, USA and Ghana in Group E next month admits he may join Zinedine Zidane in retiring from all football after the World Cup.

Spain players surprised at Aragones decision

Spain players have expressed their surprise at the omission of experienced Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes and Valencia midfielder Ruben Baraja from the squad for the World Cup.  Wih the  decision, Spain is left with a very inexperienced midfielders with just a few caps between them and  a lightweight striking options consist of just three strikers.
